Buy Ipad 2 64gb

Due to the fact that many apple fans cannot wait for the official put out date for iPad Hong Kong, the tablets have been available to people in Hong Kong at retail shops for a premium.

According to a report on M.I.C Gadget, a blog round life in China, gadgets, and other things, at least one retailer in Hong Kong is importing the iPads from America. The report speculated that hundreds of Chinese students in America bought the iPads, sales of which were limited to 2 per individual in the U.S.

The report said the iPad Hong Kong was selling in retail shops at about twice the U.S. price. A 16 GB model costs about ,800 Hong Kong Dollars (around 1) for the 16GB model, HKD,600 (about 0) for the 32 GB model, and HKD,400 (about 80) for the 64GB model.

M.I.C Gadget also linked to some YouTube videos (chinese.winandmac.com, HKBN bbtv, appledaily.com.hk) about the iPad being sold in Hong Kong. The videos, in Chinese language, depict people purchasing and using the iPad in an electronics shop in Hong Kong.

The same man selling the iPads appears in each of the videos, but he is wearing different clothes in each video, suggesting that hes been selling the iPad for some time. M.I.C Gadget says the boss sells about 50-100 iPads per day.

M.I.C Gadget and Gizmodo called the sales illegal, but neither site made reference to any criminal investigation or said which laws were being broken. Importing products for resale, or buying through indirect channels is a common practice, often called the gray market because the goods are legal (as opposed to a black market, in which illegal goods or services would be traded).

Gray markets exist in the U.S., too. Price-conscious picture taking equipment shoppers know all about it, and camera shops are fine with selling identical imported equipment at a lower price than the American version of the equipment. The side of gray markets demonstrated by the iPad Hong Kong also happens in America: Video game enthusiasts sometimes import Japanese games before their American release.

Is it okay to buy an iPad 2 64gb + 3g for $550 on eBay from a top-rated seller?
These two sellers have lots of sales and have high ratings, but it also seems a bit fishy to me. What do you think?

Looks legit to me. Even at $550 it’s a ripoff though

Lets say you buy the 64gb 3G+WIFI ipad 2, do you have to get the 3G service right away?
I am 17, im thinking about getting a job and saving up for an ipad. hahahah After the new ipad 2 came out, i want one even more than before! lol so anyway, i probably need to get a job anyway to start earning some cash. I already have an iphone 3gs that my parents pay for, and my parents sure as heck would never pay for an ipad haha

So I want to 3G + Wifi enabled one, i have wifi at home, and since the 2gb data plan is 25 dollars a month, i might wait the next month after i get my ipad to start paying for that because ill need to make sure i have enough money each month to pay for it.

Can you do that? and the wifi part still works right ? (without the data plan?) like i said i have wifi at home.

    Thanks

Should I buy the 64GB ipad?
I’m getting an ipad 2. Not because I like Apple ( I actually hate them ) but my company is requiring me to buy one. They are giving me $500 stipend.

Should I spend extra $200 of my own money to get the 64GB version?

    I’m not getting the 3G

IT depends on how much stuff you plan to store on it (I know, obvious answer).

A big consideration is that there is no upgrade later. Whatever storage capacity you buy, you’re stuck with until you get another device. There isn’t a SDcard, USB slot for external storage.

Personally, I’d invest in the extra storage whether or not I planned to use it. Especially since the first $500 is not coming out of your pocket.

Better to have the extra storage and not need it than vice versa.

If you are in Phuket and no one has approached you with a stolen one then you don’t go out at night too much. But, to tell you the truth, it would be cheaper to buy a round trip ticket to Bangkok and get one then the prices you will pay for a new one in Phuket.
