For gadget-freaks and technology-geeks, the introduction of the iPad to the market is like the coming of a digital messiah. As a matter of fact, most of you who are reading this article may already own one right now. Designed and marketed as a device to destroy past gizmos of similar function and capability, an iPad is the ultimate compact multimedia station for web browsing, music, games, e-books, movies, and Internet periodicals.
However, an iPad is not complete without having one or more of the important iPad accessories listed below.
IPad Accessories that you can’t do without:
1. iPad Keyboard Dock
Essentially a combo of a miniature keyboard and charging dock, an iPad keyboard dock comes with unique keys to activate special features. With its connector port located on its rear dock, this cool accessory allows you to connect to any power source via a USB Power Adapter. It also has an audio line out port for speakers. Those who are into photography can transfer files and use other iPad accessories like an iPad Camera Connection through its USB Power Adapter.
2. iPad Camera Connection Kit
This accessory allows you to import and export digital photos and videos from a digital camera and vice versa. You can do this by utilizing the USB of your camera through a USB cable. Another option is by transferring the files directly from an SD card; and since iPad supports standard digital image formats such as RAW and JPEG, transferring your favorite photos from your camera to your iPad is no hassle.
3. iPad Case
Need better protection for your iPad? Then an iPad case is what you need. Since this accessory will be with you at all times, you need something that is highly versatile and compact. Look for a case that is easy-to-carry and, for girls, can fit in your handbag. The right case should have durable reinforced panels and cushioned interiors to protect your unit. Some cases, such as the “official” iPad case from Apple, also double as a stand that can hold your iPad at a proper position for viewing videos and for accessing the onscreen keyboard for better typing angle.
4. iPad Dock
Aside from supporting other iPad peripherals like an iPad Camera Connection Kit or the iPad-to-VGA kit, this accessory allows you to easily access the dock connector port for functions such as charging and syncing. You can even connect your iPad to powered speakers through an optional audio cable to turn it into a desktop boombox.
5. Protection
Although some people may not consider it an accessory, the best thing you can buy for your iPad is a Protection Plan. For less than 0, AppleCare covers the hardware, battery and accessories for two years. It’s hard to beat that kind of peace of mind.
There you go. We hope you had a ball previewing the most important iPad accessories in the market today. Having an iPad is cool, but enhancing the capabilities of that lean and mean multimedia machine is even better. Need more information on other essential iPad accessories? What would you buy – Tech?
If you had £300-£1000 to spend (prefer to spend around £500) what would you buy frrom my point of view?
You don’t have to read all the description if you don’t want to but please take the time to answer this question as I am reall stuck as to what to get…
1. iPad 2
Already got an iPhone, love it. Got a bit used to the OS so it may be a bit boring for me but in terms of media and playing games it is brilliant. It is a bit over priced compared to what I can get below but its responsivness and reliability can’t be matched.
2. Another Tablet
This is a great option, with android I can get alot of the features as on the iPad but I would have to buy all the same apps again that I already love on my phone to experience them on a big screen. These are also usually cheaper. The other option is a Windows tablet. Alot of them seem sluggish and slow but make good entertainment machines with the ability to do work.
3. Dell Duo
This one sticks out the most for me in the windows range for the price however some reviews say it isn’t that great, however I won’t be doing major things on it just taking away on holiday to watch movies and listen to music and I can use it for school to do work because of the attached keyboard
4. Asus Eee Slate
This is the top of the range at the moment for tablets it has 4GB of RAM, i5 processor, 64GB SSD. It looks great, responds great and there hasn’t been a bad review yet. But the price tag is £1000… Meaning I would have to save a bit to get it.
5. Desktop
There is on in particular i’m looking at. Its a barebones PC (build my self) and for £700 I could get a 6 Core, 8GB RAM, 2TB Hardrive, Blu Ray drive, 22″ Screen, 1GB Graphics card. These specs are amazing but I keep asking myself if I need a desktop – the answer in the end was yes. But this option just isn’t as fun as the others, I would love a big touchsreen, yes I have a laptop, yes I have an iPhone but tablets are just getting amazing. This laptop would be great for games ( I play RPG on PC).
6. Your choice?
What would you get with a preferabble price tage of £500 but up to £1000 for something good?
Well a Desktop for sure..
If u are indulged in gaming or animation!
Would an iPad be better than a laptop for me?
I currently don’t have a laptop, but i do have a desktop computer and an iPod touch. I have read a bunch of reviews, and most of them say that they barely use their laptops anymore. Most people say they just use their laptops to print, and write long documents. Printing is coming in ios 4.2, I wont be getting the iPad until Christmas, so it will already have multitasking and printing built in. I am currently in 9th grade, and i mainly use my moms laptop for reading articles online, and lite document typing. I would also get the Bluetooth keyboard for typing documents that i need. I would also take it to school for typing documents on the pages app during study hall. It would be much easier to carry around then a laptop being light and thin. I have also tried the virtual keyboard and I type pretty good on it, maybe a little bit slower then i would on a physical keyboard. Then at home, i can finish up the document on the Bluetooth keyboard. Does this sound better than a laptop. Lighter, smaller, almost the same typing speed, and quickly turning it on and off and opening different apps.
It really just depends on what YOU find most important: Entertainment, or work. A Mac or PC laptop would be better for school especially when: word processing, video editing, using presentation tools. Ask yourself this question: Is typing a five page paper practical on an iPad?
If you are fine and ok with using your desktop for school work, then I would get the iPad.
Does the Apple Wireless keyboard work offline?
I am interested in getting the IPad 2 along with the wireless keyboard. I have heard great reviews on the keyboard and its connection capabilities. I do travel a lot and so I will not always be connected to WiFi. Will the keyboard still connect to the IPad?
thanks so much!

The iPod Touch (stylized, trademarked, and marketed as iPod touch) is a portable media player, personal digital assistant, and Wi-Fi mobile platform designed and marketed by Apple Inc. The product was launched on September 5, 2007, at an event called The Beat Goes On.[4] The iPod Touch adds the multi-touch graphical user interface to the iPod line. It is the first iPod with wireless access to the iTunes Store, and also has access to Apple’s App Store, enabling content to be purchased and downloaded directly on the device. Apple Inc. has sold over 32 million iPod Touch units as of the end of 2009. You should go through

What is the most protective and useful iPad 2 case?
I recently got an iPad 2 and I was worried about only having the magnetized screen cover from apple. I’m planning on using this for school with a keyboard, and I would like a cover that can stand the iPad up, protect it, and if possible has the magnetized screen for easy sleeping and on when class is over.
I have looked at a lot of reviews online and I still can’t decide what the best iPad 2 case is.
What would you get in this situation?
I want a case, I do not want a cover plus a bag. Thanks, but I’ve already thought of that.
IPad2 Leather Case with Wireless Bluetooth Keyboard, maybe can help you.
