  5. QUESTION:
What Is the Best Tablet,Touchpad or App for Drawing and Sketching Digitally?
I go through way too much paper with my sketching, so I'm looking to switch to just doing it digitally. I found iPad to be problematic (styluses too thick, apps not that sophisticated etc). Does anyone know a good touchpad, tablet or product for sketching digitally? It would also be a plus if it had the tools to turn a sketch into a finished drawing, too. Any info would be appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
Personally the iPad is awesome for drawing. Sketchbook Pro is my favorite app and using a DAGI stylus. There is a new Wacom Bamboo stylus available for the iPad as well (slimmer nib - still rubber like in consistency but responsive).

As the previous poster mentioned the Inkling is out or due out and it is essentially a device you can attach to your sketchbook or drawing and it will digitize/scan your image while you draw. The nice thing is that it will throw it into a vector program versus a standard drawing application.

If you are wanting to go strictly to a new tablet/pen setup the Wacom is handsdown the best there is. Ranging from the smaller 3x5 4x6 sizes upwards. I have an Intuos 4 and I do use the side toggles and buttons for all my applications (drawing and modeling). You may not need anything spendy to begin with so start with the Bamboo.
